Messages posted on the board

Before you post
  • Do a search: your questions may already have been posted. You can use the search function.

  • Check the FAQ section for general forum management questions.
  • Take a look at our tutorials to see if your issue has been covered.

Topic titles
  • You must use a title related to your problem/question for you post. This helps the forum’s search engines to include your post and enable others to find it quickly.
  • Words such as ‘Urgent,’ ‘SOS,’ ‘Hurry’, are not tolerated in post titles.
  • Avoid the use of capital letters.

Description of your problem/question
  • Try to be very clear and accurate about what you want to say. Don’t hesitate to describe your problem, and giving more information will enable a better answer to be give.

Language
  • Avoid all use of ‘text speek’ or ‘leetspeak.’ Using correct English not only helps non-English viewers, but helps people find your post and answer it more effectively.

Colours, capitals and size
[list][*]
Don’t ABUSE CAPITAL LETTERS when posting (this is classed as shouting!).
[*]
Overly large text is like screaming

Off-topic and one-word posts
  • Avoid one-word posts (lol, rofl, etc), or single smiley answers.
  •
Also avoid posting the same topic twice: it WILL NOT increase the chances of a response.
  •
If you make a mistake or you want to modify one of your posts, please use the ‘edit’ button at the top-right of the post, to avoid double-posting

Advertising for your forum
  • Spamming will not be tolerated. If you make a post, give the address of your forum only if it's really necessary in helping to understand it. Better still, put your forum address in your profile.

Copyright
  • Copying and stealing works such as images, graphics (Theme, Images) and/or code (CSS, Templates) is not allowed. If you are found to steal or copy others work you will be banned from the forum.

Other forms of advertising
  • Adding advert links in your post is not allowed, and you may be banned if this occurs.

Off-site links
  • If you post a lot of off-site links (ie, in all or most of your posts), you may be reminded to reduce the number of links you post.
  •
It is the decision of Hubble & Hattie administrators and moderators whether this is classed as a spamming or advertising, and the nature of the sanctions imposed for such actions.

Behaviour on the forum
  • Defamatory, racist, hateful, pornographic, illegal or insulting content will not be allowed on this forum. You must respect the fact that people may have a different opinion than you.
  •
If you are in conflict with another member, please use PMs to try to resolve the matter.

  •
Please, be patient. Bumping-up your topic every few minutes is pointless. This forum isn’t run by robots, but by people, all of whom have busy lives away from the forum, so please give them time to respond.

  •
You must respect the moderators and administrators.
  •
Again, they are only human, and they are here to try and ensure that every user has an enjoyable experience here.
  •
If you received advertising, pornographic content, or insults via a PM, you must send the whole message, along with a screenshot of that message, to a moderator via PM. Posting it in a topic is pointless and could escalate conflicts between you and the one who sent the material to you.

  •
If you find a Forumotion forum that doesn't respect the Terms of Service, use the Litigation tool to report it instead of creating a topic. This way you will avoid undeliberate advertising and possible conflicts with the creator of that forum

  •
If you don't find your topic, it may have been moved to a more appropriate place. If you are not sure how to find it, click on your username in the ‘Who is Online ?’ section at the bottom of the homepage and go to the ‘Statistics’ tab of your profile. There you can perform a quick search of all the posts or topics you recently made.

  •
Do not moderate other members. Moderating is reserved for staff members only.

Avatar and Profile
Avatar dimensions
  • Your avatar must be a maximum of 150 pixels wide by 200 pixels high, and storage is limited to 300KB.
  •
Your avatar is not an advertising banner. Avatars with your forum URL or links to other sites must be avoided.
  •
Gory, sexually graphic, or other type of avatars that are considered to be inappropriate. must be avoided.

  •
Your ‘Language,’ ‘Location’ and ‘Hobbies’ fields are not an advertising space. Links (to your forum or to other sites) must be avoided.

Possible sanctions
  • If you use PM to advertise, your PM box will be disabled.

  • If your avatar doesn't respect the rules and you ignore the moderator's request to have it changed, the Administrator will forbid you from displaying an Avatar

  • If you use the board to advertise things, you will be banned.

  • Ignoring moderators’ warnings, continuing to disrespect the board rules, or insulting people will result in a ban from this forum

Warnings
  • Depending on the gravity of the rules that you break, you will notice a 'warning level' on your profile.
  •

Also note that warnings are added on your profile, and you will get banned if you:
    Receive 3 warnings
    Receive 1 warning + a serious warning
    Receive 2 warnings + a serious warning
    Receive 2 serious warnings

  • If you spam you will be banned on the spot without any warning

All bans and warnings are permanent.

Multiple accounts on this forum are not allowed.

If you have any question about one of the forum rules, please PM a moderator to ask your question.

Note: These rules may be modified/updated anytime, so we invite you to re-read them regularly.
